Location: Long Island, Bahamas, located in the Atlantic Ocean, part of the beautiful Exuma Cays chain, known for its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters and unique wildlife.

Historical Significance: The Bahamas have a rich history as a key point for trade and maritime navigation in the Caribbean. The islands are famous for their colonial architecture, their role in piracy during the 17th century and their significance as a popular tourist destination for both relaxation and adventure.

Role in the Expedition: From February 27th to March 5th, 2024, we explored the Bahamas, covering 193 nm. Stops included Exuma Island (George Town), Pig Beach and Norman’s Cay.

Conditions: Navigation was generally easy with steady winds and calm seas, though shallow waters required vigilance. The turquoise waters provided a stunning backdrop for island exploration.
